Join our highly motivated and talented IT team to work on software solutions for luxury fashion brand BALR. and football news platform 433!

BALR. has grown far beyond the webshop alone. Think multiple sales channels (online and offline) and warehouses, multichannel customer service, international shipping and returns. Think about all the data streams to be collected, aggregated, analyzed and reported. Not to mention the peaks of traffic generated by campaigns on our social media accounts with millions of followers. You will help the team choose the best system architecture to meet the technological challenges at hand. You have the experience and insight to decide between a third party service or a custom build. In the latter case, your default mindset is full TDD and you take responsibility for DevOps work to facilitate collaboration with team members.

Requirements

The colleague we are looking for is an experienced PHP developer with extensive knowledge of Symfony, because that is what we have mostly been using. Of course, we are also open to using other technologies, especially if they prove to meet our technical requirements better. Personal characteristics like ambition and passion, autonomy and eagerness to learn, as well as social and communicative skills are greatly valued in our IT department.

 

A non-exhaustive description of our current technology stack in keywords: PHP, Git, GitHub, Travis CI, Codeship, phpunit, phpspec, behat, Selenium, php-fpm, nginx, multi-container docker, AWS (Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, ELB, S3, CloudFront, ElastiCache, RDS), Heroku, CloudFlare, fluentd, kibana.

 
In short, we are looking for: 

- An experienced PHP developer with extensive kwowledge of Symfony;

- Who is available for a 40 hour work week;

- And is fluent in English and Dutch.
